A one of a kind hand painted terracotta tagine. Made in Morocco with traditional earthenware, these clay tagines are skilfully hand painted.
The tagine measures 30cm diameter by 32cm high. It is designed for use in the oven but due to the beautiful design we would recommend using it as a serving tagine. An item like this is sure to impress your guests when you bring it to the table. If you do wish to cook with it, always ensure that you bring it up to heat slowly and allow to cool slowly. The base should be soaked for a couple of hours before you first use it and should be allowed to dry naturally.
Tagines like this are very common in households across North Africa, they are designed for slow cooking of stews style dishes. Possibly one of the most popular recipes is a lamb and apricot tagine. Have a look at our recipe page for some inspiration.
